1898. Taken during the opening of the Pretoria - Pietersburg railway. Type 2-6-4 tank locomotive built by Beyer-Peacock in 1897. PPR No 2, later CSAR Class D No 210, later SAR Class D No 57. See P1641.
1901. Cape 6th Class 'Schenectady', built by the American Loco Co No's 2646-2653, later SAR Class 6G.

1904. CSAR Class M No 995-996 rack locomotives. They were built by Vulcan Foundry No 1942-1943 of 1906. They were not a success and the rack drives were removed and then used for shunting. In 1910 they were renumbered 0995-0996 but were scrapped in 1912.

1917. Built by North British Loco Works No's 20854-20860 in 1917 for the Manila Railroad. During the locomotive shortage in WW1 they were taken over and became SAR Type Class K.
