1917. Built by North British Loco Works No's 20854-20860 in 1917 for the Manila Railroad. During the locomotive shortage in WW1 they were taken over and became SAR Type Class K.
1890. Cape 5th Class No 293, built by Dubs & Co No's 2664-2683 in 1890 -1891. In 1910 they become SAR Class 05 and several survived into the 1940's.

Windhoek, South-West Africa, 1952. Narrow gauge 2-4-2T 'Hope' plinthed at railway station. This was the first locomotive in South-West Africa, built for the Walvis Bay Railway in 1899 by Kerr Stuart No 652 of 1899.
