1940. Starting life as Cape 1st Class 2-6-0 tender engines, 10 of these were converted to 2-6-0ST. Five survived and were sold to the PEHB. In 1910 they became Cape 1st Class including this No 0416.

Cape 1st Class 4-4-0 built by Avonside & Neilson 1878/80. All were sold or scrapped by 1910 except No 40 which become SAR Class 01 No 040.
