NGR 6 wheel coupled 2-6-0T locomotive No 1 - 5 built by Beyer Peacock No's1702-1706 of 1878. All sold or scrapped before 1910.
NGR Beyer Peacock No 3 later changed to No 503 scrapped before 1904. Remainder of the class renumbered 0504, 0506 and 0507 under SAR. No 506 sold to ERPM No 1 November 1898.

Durban, 1947. The first locomotive in Natal and given the name 'Natal' attached on it's side. It was built by Carrett Marshall & Co, 1860.
The first locomotives ordered for the NGR were these Beyer Peacock Ltd engines No.1702-1706 on 1877. NGR Class K No's 1-4 later renumbered 501-504, three survived to 1910 as 0502-0504.
Originally NGR Beyer Peacock 2-6-0T No 5, sold in November 1898 and worked on ERPM mine until about 1946.
Durban, 1947. The first locomotive in Natal and given the name '"Natal' attached on its side. It was built by Carrett Marshall & Co, 1860.

1880. NGR harbour board locomotive No 15 'Sir Albert', built by Hunslet Engine Company No 249 in 1880. Scrapped in 1912.
