1940. Starting life as Cape 1st Class 2-6-0 tender engines, 10 of these were converted to 2-6-0ST. Five survived and were sold to the PEHB. In 1910 they became Cape 1st Class including this No 0416.
SAR Class 01 No 0416, built by Kitsons in 1877, later fitted with a saddle tank and used on harbour work.
