Cape Town. A Wallis & Steevens 3-ton steam tractor converted to run on a single rail presumably for steering purposes. Part of the little-known Vasco monorail which used a combination of monorail and road-rail. It was apparently built in the then open land bordering Bellville and used for domestic waste disposal.

Cape Town. Funeral train which serviced the four Woltemade sidings for the new Maitland Cemetry c1908 shown returning late afternoon between Salt River and Woodstock behind a CGR Class 03 'Wynberg tender' locomotive. The Funeral coach attached behind the engine had a single compartment for undertakers and seven smaller compartments for coffins. The train departed from Platform 1 also known as the Funeral Bay.
